Each day it holds one ETF. If the US market (SPY) is in an uptrend (price above its 200‑day average) and emerging markets (EEM) look overheated (RSI, a 0–100 gauge of recent “hotness,” is above 75.5) and EM’s momentum beats the US (EEM’s RSI > SPY’s), it switches to EUM—an ETF that rises when EM fall. Otherwise it stays in URTH, a broad developed‑world fund spanning major sectors.
Usually holds URTH (global developed stocks). When the S&P 500 is trending up but emerging markets get unusually hot and stronger than the US, it flips to EUM to bet on an EM pullback.
Out-of-sample, this strategy bundles higher risk-adjusted returns (OOS Sharpe ~1.29 vs SPY ~1.23), similar upside (~19.93% vs 19.70%), and lower drawdown (15.49% vs 18.76%). URTH core with rare EM shorts offers smoother, resilient growth.
