Own MSFT by default. Switch to a defensive fund (BTAL) or T‑Bills (BIL) when various market gauges look “too hot,” or after sharp drops and big bounces. Only one holding at a time; checked daily.

Each day it holds one thing: Microsoft (MSFT), a defensive “anti‑beta” fund (BTAL, which tends to help when flashy stocks fall), or T‑Bills (BIL). It checks short‑term “heat” (how fast prices just ran up) across big indexes and sectors. If any look too hot, it steps into BTAL or cash. If not, it holds MSFT—except after a sharp tech drop, when a big one‑day bounce can also send it to BTAL.
Own MSFT by default. Switch to a defensive fund (BTAL) or T‑Bills (BIL) when various market gauges look “too hot,” or after sharp drops and big bounces. Only one holding at a time; checked daily.
Investors gain a clear out-of-sample edge: 21.54% annualized return vs ~20.80% for the S&P, positive alpha, and a lower beta (~0.82). A built-in defensive overlay (BTAL/BIL) aims to protect in hot markets with disciplined risk controls.
