Each month, hold either U.S. stocks (SPY) or gold (GLD)—whichever had the higher return over the last 90 days. If SPY didn’t win, it defaults to gold. A simple way to follow the stronger trend.

The text the rules are quoted from, with where it came from.
Once a month, it looks back 90 days and compares SPY (an ETF of the 500 biggest U.S. companies) with GLD (an ETF that tracks gold). If SPY did better, it holds SPY for the next month; otherwise (including ties) it holds GLD. SPY/GLD are used because they’re liquid and often move differently.<br>Then it repeats.
Each month, hold either U.S. stocks (SPY) or gold (GLD)—whichever had the higher return over the last 90 days. If SPY didn’t win, it defaults to gold. A simple way to follow the stronger trend.
Momentum-driven SPY/GLD rotation offers higher risk-adjusted returns: oos annualized 18.29% vs SPY 14.72%, Sharpe ~0.99 vs ~0.88, Calmar ~0.72. ~1700 days tested; diversification between SPY and gold targets regime shifts for better resilience.
A pair of classics: stocks and gold. Together, but apart. This strategy switches between holding stocks and gold depending on their 90-day performance. It holds stocks if stocks are doing better, and gold if gold is doing better. This symphony was developed by Composer. By choosing to trade this strategy, you understand that the strategy employs ETFs, and that you understand the associated risks of trading, holding, and costs associated with ETFs, and also leveraged ETFs. Before investing in ANY strategy containing an ETF, please review the relevant ETF prospectus.
