Rules-based switch: ride big tech (QQQ) in uptrends with a small 2x boost, hide in staples and lightly short tech in downtrends, but go 2x long tech on sharp selloffs to catch rebounds.

It uses SPY as a market health gauge. If SPY is above its 200‑day average, hold 75% QQQ (Nasdaq‑100: big tech) and 25% QLD (2x QQQ). If SPY is below and very oversold (10‑day RSI < 30), go 100% QLD to play a bounce. Otherwise hold 75% XLP (consumer staples) and 25% QID (−2x QQQ). Trades only when signals change.
Rules-based switch: ride big tech (QQQ) in uptrends with a small 2x boost, hide in staples and lightly short tech in downtrends, but go 2x long tech on sharp selloffs to catch rebounds.
Out-of-sample edge: ~35.3% annualized return vs SPY ~22.3%, with solid risk control (Calmar ~1.43; Sharpe ~1.28). Regime-switching tech tilt offers faster upside with disciplined risk vs the S&P 500.
