The Russell 1000 Consumer Staples portfolio gives investors direct ownership of individual stocks in companies behind the products people reach for every day, from groceries and beverages to household necessities. Rather than buying a single fund, this portfolio uses a direct indexing approach, meaning you hold the actual stocks that represent a defined segment of the Russell 1000® Index. The holdings span established large- and mid-cap businesses known for steady consumer demand. This structure provides a transparent way to gain focused exposure to one of the market's most time-tested sectors.

The Interactive Advisors FTSE Russell Index Tracking Portfolios are designed to follow certain predefined rules so that the portfolio can track a specified basket of underlying investments, which corresponds to the reference index. These portfolios aim to track the performance of the underlying basket (index), and typically represent a form of passive investing. Interactive Advisors constructs and manages these portfolios based on data provided pursuant to licensing agreements with FTSE International Limited ("FTSE") and the Frank Russell Company ("Russell"). The goal of these portfolios is to allow investors to track the performance of certain specified portions of the US Stock market as represented by the reference index.
Capital growth plus with a more complex portfolio or higher risk profile than broad equity markets. Investing in equities and concentrated portfolios and prepared to accept fluctuation in portfolio value.
Defensive-minded investors: If you want exposure to companies whose products remain in demand through all market cycles, this portfolio targets that dependable corner of the U.S. equity market. Index-focused investors: This portfolio mirrors the Russell 1000® Consumer Staples Index using a direct indexing structure. You get the discipline of passive index investing while holding each stock individually for greater visibility into your positions. Stability seekers: Centered on established large- and mid-cap companies with predictable revenue streams, this portfolio suits investors who value consistency and want to complement higher-growth allocations elsewhere.
Allocation discipline: The portfolio holds long positions in U.S. consumer staples equities selected from the Russell 1000® Index. It rebalances on a quarterly schedule to remain consistent with the reference index, helping ensure that allocations continue to reflect the intended market segment over time. Sell discipline: Sell decisions follow an index-driven process tied exclusively to the quarterly rebalance and reconstitution of the Russell 1000® Consumer Staples Index. When the index provider updates its components, the portfolio adjusts accordingly, removing stocks that no longer qualify and adding those that meet the updated criteria. This approach eliminates subjective judgment from exit decisions.
Direct asset control: You own the individual stocks in this portfolio rather than shares of a fund. This gives you full transparency into every holding and a clearer picture of exactly where your money is invested. Built-in defensive focus: Consumer staples companies produce the goods that households rely on everyday. Because demand for these products tends to hold steady even during economic slowdowns, this sector can add a stabilizing element to your overall investment mix. Systematic, rules-based discipline: The portfolio follows a structured process tied to the Russell 1000® Consumer Staples Index, rebalancing quarterly. This removes emotional decision-making and keeps your holdings aligned with a well-defined market benchmark.
