Picks 5 recent winners from the biggest S&P 500 stocks when trends are favorable, but goes to an inverse S&P 500 ETF (SH) when conditions look risky or overly hot. It adapts its lookback window (2–90 days) to the market’s state.

It watches the S&P 500 (SPY) to judge market health. Think of RSI as a 0–100 “speedometer” (high = overheated, low = washed out) and moving averages as trend lines.
• If the market is healthy and not overheated: own 5 of the strongest big US stocks by recent gains (about 3 months).
• After dips: still buy leaders, but using shorter lookbacks (20/10/5/2 days).
• If nothing looks good or things are too hot: hold SH, which moves opposite the S&P 500.

Out-of-sample edge: ~28% annualized return vs SPY ~6.7%, higher risk-adjusted metrics (Sharpe ~0.86, Calmar ~2.03). While drawdowns run ~14%, the strategy seeks big upside in leaders with defensive SH hedges in overheating markets.
