Composer · investment strategy
by Composer Technologies · via Composer
A QQQ‑focused tactical strategy. In uptrends it holds QQQ unless momentum looks overheated, then shifts to BTAL or T‑Bills. In downtrends it buys oversold tech or SPY, otherwise hides in BTAL or cash. Uses simple trend and RSI signals; rebalanced daily.

Daily: 1) Big trend check—if the S&P 500 (SPY) is above its 200‑day average, hold QQQ (Nasdaq‑100) unless short‑term momentum looks overheated (using fast RSI on leveraged TQQQ/SPXL). If it’s too hot, switch to defense: BTAL (low‑beta long/short) or BIL (T‑Bills). 2) If SPY is below its 200‑day, buy sharp dips (XLK or SPY) when RSI is very low; if not, use a 20‑day trend/RSI check to choose BTAL, BIL, or default to QQQ. RSI 0–100: high=hot, low=cold.

Out-of-sample edge: 28.5% annualized return vs 20.8% for SPY, with smaller drawdown (16.0% vs 18.8%). Sharpe ~1.29; Calmar ~1.78; 1020 days tested. Tech tilt with hedges aims for higher upside with tighter downside vs SPY.
