To be selected, managers are screened (e.g. AUM, own money in the strategy), fill in a questionnaire on portfolio construction, risk control and strategy guidelines, share historical trade data, and pass a live test period during which clients cannot invest. Managers license their trade data and have no discretion over client accounts. IA receives no compensation from managers and does not pay them for referrals.

Sparrow Capital Management is a registered investment advisor based in Missouri. Gerry Sparrow, an investment professional with more than 20 years of investment management experience, is our President and Founder. He selects stock investments using a proprietary matrix of fundamental, quantitative and technical factors.
Aggressive capital growth with significantly higher risk than broad equity market. Investing in equities and concentrated portfolios and prepared to take substantial risk to achieve investment goals.
Our research helps us to diversify the portfolio’s holdings across multiple sectors. We often will have different weightings for each sector, as compared to the S&P 500 Index.
The screening process helps identify companies that meet specific criteria for growth and other metrics.
We use screens to identify industries and companies that show above average earning power. Then, we rate stocks using a matrix of various fundamental and quantitative factors. Some of these factors include above-average sales and earnings per-share growth rates. Finally, we review the company's original source material including quarterly reports and participate in quarterly conference calls and webcasts.
We sell positions when the original reason for the purchase no longer exists or we find a better idea.
