The text the rules are quoted from, with where it came from.
Each day it checks SPY (an ETF of the 500 biggest US stocks). It looks back 9 trading days (~2 weeks) and asks: did SPY ever drop from a recent high? If the answer is “no drop at all,” it holds TLT (an ETF of long‑term US Treasury bonds) for the day. Otherwise, it holds SPY. Repeats daily.
Mostly in SPY. It only switches to TLT when SPY had zero pullbacks over the last 9 trading days. Daily check, all-in on one ETF at a time.
Strong risk-adjusted path to equity gains: OOS Sharpe ~1.31, Calmar ~1.10, similar drawdown to SPY, and ~20.68% annualized return (vs SPY ~21.84%). A rare TLT hedge during streaks adds diversification and resilience with low turnover.
